This article assumes that there is another politician out there who will AND CAN lead USA to where you think it should go.

To get elected and stay elected, politicians need to strike some kind of a balance. And this balance changes as politicians move from the primaries to the general election to actual governance. As well, the too many viewpoints of the people contribute to where the balance is; where there is little unity, politicians really cannot lead. And then there is the current democratic structures, which also contributes to a not-so-good balance.

Unfortunately, election 2020 was about Trump vs. not-Trump. Mr. Biden was a good not-Trump. All those other issues many Americans wanted got pushed aside. So there's no way any politician will be held accountable for them. Elections 2022 and 2024 will also be Trump vs. Not-Trump.

It is time for a new way. Your suggestion of breaking up the union has merit. Maybe some of these new nations will also shed their archaic American democracy for a better way.
