For when things get worse!
My main reason for being an Medium is to promote a kinder, wiser democracy. I have written about 650 articles, read thousands, and given at least 12,000 comments.
In March, I had an article that went viral. With that article, I estimate I have introduced this new democracy to at least 7,000 Medium readers.
Alas, interest has been disappointing. I have a few lukewarm fans, but they don’t seem willing to take this democracy to the next step. After six years, Tiered Democratic Governance is no further ahead than when I started my Medium sojourn six years ago.
Things are getting worse
The first 100 days of the Trump presidency are moving the USA toward an oligarchy faster than I had anticipated. My sense of logic says people should be showing more interest in my ideas. Alas, they are not. Medium, Mastodon, and Substack are full of articles blaming various political actors — as if the solution lies in casting blame.
Things need to get worse
I have low expectations these days. It seems we need to go more backwards before we can move forward.
