In Canada, most able-bodied people find work at mininum wage that pays about $1600 a month. If they really, really, wanted welfare, they could get $1000 a month for doing nothing. Why is that so many Canadians take crappy jobs for an extra $600?
Having said, we need to implement a UBI slowly, maybe starting at $200 a month. The studies mentioned in this article gave a full UBI right from the start. We need time to adjust to the new ways.
