This essay explains well two features of today's democracy:

1) Voting does have an effect on how politicians "behave."

2) The system is broken.

But voting is not enough. Think of Australia, where at least 90% are encouraged to vote. Is Australia a democratic utopia?

We need a new way. Voting will not take us to where we want to go.
