This is a unique approach. However, I had troubles understanding who was talking: Believer 1?, Believer 2?, or the scientist?. Plus it was hard for me to sort out the setting text with some of the dialogue.

Too much mental effort would be required (by me) to sort out the dialogue and the setting. So I really didn't follow your logic.
