This is just my hypothesis, but WHO screwed up because it has to play politics to stay somewhat relevant in international affairs. If it had stood on China’s shoulders when it should have, China would have thrown it out of the country. Instead, WHO kind of pussyfooted around, hoping that it could be of some influence into what China was doing while still keeping an eye on things. And looking back, the writing was still on the wall regardless of what WHO and China were saying or doing. Maybe WHO did its job as best it could.
Until we stop playing politics, we should expect more uckfups from government. Gathering political power requires a sacrifice in principles and integrity.
