This is nothing new.

I had a friend of the left-wing persuation. He joined the Conservative Party of Alberta for the sole purposes of voting for the worst candate in the leadership race. His motive was to elect this guy as leader, making the left-wing party more attractive to moderate voters.

Well, my friend (and probably many others) got their wish in 1992. The buffoon was elected as party leader. But for some reason, Albertans really loved this guy. He was premier of Alberta for 14 years.

When the other side can interfere in another party's elections, is this not a sign something is wrong?
