This is only anecdotal, so take my response with a grain of salt.

After being here for four years, I seem to get a sense of when some behind-the-scenes things have changed. Not sure how or why or what, but something changed.

I think there was another change in mid-November, which might explain your straight-line extrapolation is no longer working.
