This would be an interesting social trend to chase down.

I'm not a big believer in RED/BLUE states as seldom does the split go beyond 60/40 for one side or another. But there are BLUE urban areas and RED rural areas. There we can find 80/20 splits. That might be interesting demographics to see how social mobility occurs.

There have been a few Medium articles about how the BLUE states are subsidizing the RED states. I don't know.

My mother had a friend who married a doctor. This (white) fellow grew up in a ghetto in Chicago. Somehow he mustered the life force to overcome his poverty and get himself well educated.
