Three More Articles that Should Have Done Better

If I were Pavlov’s dog running the Medium maze trying to figure out what to do to get food, I would probably starve. Too often, the stimulus-and-reward correlation is not working here.

Because I am often writing about an alternative democracy that nobody wants, I have been relegated to bottom writer status. Medium has told me that I really should quit my crazy idea of an advanced democracy.

But I do get a little traction for my work here. Some articles do better than others. And it’s interesting to try to figure out why.

But “doing better” is relative. Please understand that I am comparing Dave to Dave. Many of you are doing better than I. So here is how I get my Medium score:

Below Average: Less than $1

Average: $1 to $3

Above Average: More than $3

I would say each category gets about 1/3 of my articles. When I analyze the “below average” category, I either expected some of these articles to be below average before I hit “publish” or I can now see that the title was ineffective.
