Throughout the 2016 election campaign, the polls were predicting a Clinton victory right up to election day. Even Mr. Trump did not believe he was going to win. A week before the election, the Comey email scandal broke. The pundits thought there was enough margin to overcome that scandal. I was watching CNN after the polls closed. The CNN announcers were downcast; the unthinkable had happened. It was pretty obvious to all that Mr. Trump had won.

Ms. Clinton did consider challenging the results as there are always voting irregularities. But she would have had to turn five states with enough evidence. Her team realized the difficulty with that task. She conceded within a couple of days of the election.

I'm not sure what you might have been hearing. But it is plausible you were hearing sources that did not want to believe Mr. Trump had won. Many Americans were in political shock.

Regardless, the current system is crumbling. It is time to build a new one.
