To me, a lot of social ills come from poverty, not racism. Poverty and dysfunctional families and communities. are a hard thing to climb out of. Just because one person in thousand can make the change does not mean the other 999 were inferior.

But there very well may be historical racism still at play that keeps certain demographics poor. A UBI would be a great tool to alleviate that illness.

I like the scientific study of mice in two cages. One cage had a cat watching over it all day. The mice were safe in that cage, but were always nervous for the cat was always trying to figure out a way to eat them. The mice in the cage with no cat lived longer. Fear or perceived fear is not good for the human psyche.

I also liked your media/political deduction. Until this dynamic is changed, the ______________ (name your adjective) racism is likely to continue.

We really need to change our system of governance, which is my ulterior motive for being on Medium.
