To quote Edmond Burke:
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
I took this to heart when I decided to change the world by being involved in Canadian politics (1986-1992). At the end of this sojourn in life, I realized that party politics is dysfunctional, and this dysfunction moves into government and society at large. This "good man" could do nothing to change this dysfunction.
Politics is scaring many good people from participating. When good people stay away, should we not be surprised that overly ambitious, questionable talent, power seeking, attention grabbing people take the reins of government?
