To take your idea bit further, so many of our MPs and MLAs also have not had much experience in governance before they are elected. In my ideal world, one moves a step up the ladder because one has mastered the step he is standing on.

Can you imagine Donald Trump ever having the patience to go through a discussion about the pros and cons of putting up a $250,000 crosswalk on 5th Avenue? Yet Americans gave him the top job.
