True cost of running a vehicle? The average person just has no clue--or wants to learn. Sometimes , they can't even factor in the price of gasoline.
I had some relatives who often made the trip to Great Falls. Montana. They justified the trip(s) because food is cheaper in the USA than Canada. Not sure why, but it is. But the cheaper food never paid for the trip. They just wanted an excuse to get out of town---tell their social circle who could not afford to make these trips on a regular basis.
Until we get a little smarter with our everyday math, there's going to be people to take advantage of us.
Just like the middle class American who got a $500 tax cut from the former president. That's a good reason to vote for him, right? And the rich guy who got a $100,000 tax cut will trickle that down into the average guy's economy, right?
