Umair actually has a few answers. Go into his essays on Eudamonmics. He has some nifty ideas.

But these ideas do not bring readers and enough Medium shekels. Doomposting is the bread-and-butter to justify time on the keyboard. The fact that Umair has 180k followers with his doomposting says more about us than him.

I used to "dog on" to Umair's articles, dovetailing some of his points into my alternative democracy. Umair never responded. But about 1/3 of my followers come from these efforts.

I too have muted Umair (and other top writers). They are overrated, but they still show up on my feed.
