Umair, have you ever been on the inside of a political party? Especially in the midst of an internal party election when the usual oversights in general elections are not there?
There’s not a lot of love inside political parties. Rather, it is about formal and informal contests to acquire status, influence, and power.
This dysfunction then spills into our government, which then spills into general society.
Let me say this in another way: Political parties are not about love. They cannot teach us about love. We commoners cannot convince them to be more loving.
Until we get rid of the political parties, all popular solutions will have no effect. And the instinctual nature of political parties is overjoyed that pundits like you are writing articles that more or less keep the political parties in place.
