Unfortunately, the USA is not set up for a viable third party. I would not put much money on any such movement happening soon.
You might be interested in my stories of Alberta politics. In 2010, the Conservative Party was a coalition of moderate conservatives and radical conservatives. The moderates had been pulling the levers of power for 40 years. The radicals had to go along because there was no other choice for them.
Then the radicals started organizing themselves within the party. In about 10 years, the radicals are now pulling the levers. The moderates have to go along because there is no other choice for them.

The week, the Alberta premier was put into a difficult position. Someone asked her about the chemtrails coming from jet planes, dropping their mind altering chemicals on the population. Now, I believe she is mostly a sensible person, but to denounce this conspiracy would be to denounce a significant part of her base. And the base fired the last premier.
She said something like: "If this is happening, it would be the the US Department of Defence."
Followed by: "I don't have much control over what the US Department of Defence does or does not do."
She gets to keep her job.
