We have discussed the "Medium Lottery" before. I wonder if Medium is pushing the few top writers on us--just to keep us hoping.

In terms of traction, you are in a higher league than I. But I'm still making too much money for how low my readership is. My business math calculations just doesn't add up for Medium to stay in business--unless there is a big cohort of "mostly readers" paying subscription fees.

I haven't checked for a year, but my observation was that there is a high turnover of Medium contributors. If so, then Medium needs to put the higher lurker-to-subscribers ratios to the front of the stage.

In terms of traction, you are in a higher league than I. Your stuff probably has a higher lurker-to-subscriber ratio. I think mine is pretty low, especially given my main topic.

I think the greater exposure comes after LTS ratio is established. Medium needs to keep selling subscriptions to keep the cash moving in.
