We have to get passed the sensationalism of this issue. While the per-capita firemarm death is the USA is highest of all western countries, the chances of anyone of us being involved in a mass shooting is small. We can and should carry on our daily activitise without fear.
Having said that, there are sensible laws that the USA can enact. These laws will reduce these incidents, but will not cure all of them. Even Canada has its occasional out-of-control mad shooter.
If we can't find these sensible laws (and polls show at least 60% of Americans want them), then we need to consider that our legislative processes cannot deliver this kind of result. It is time to build a new way.
