We need to be driving less. Maybe reduce our driving by 10% a year.

Idling cars to keep the air conditioning or heating running is silly. Just put up with the inconvenience.

Many more things would be manufactured locally if the price of fuel was $20 a gallon. We don't need big ships to move children's books and lawn gnomes from China to North America.

Stop flying airplanes so much. Do you really need to go home for Thanksgiving when you are going home for Christmas? In a pandemic?

Eat less meat.

Cruiseship industry has a way-out-to-lunch ecological footprint. Partake in this endeavor maybe once every five years.

Unfortunately, our current systems of governance are unable to move their citizens in these directions. A slowly-increasing, fuel tax would do wonders.
