Posting an article like this on Medium is only preaching to the choir. Writing thousands of articles like this and posting them on Medium will not change the minds of those whom we want minds changed.

I don't have a short-term solution. It will take at least a decade to dissipate this social/political force to the point where elections will not be won. In fact, I believe this force sees the possibility of an oligarchy of their liking, so they will be further entrenched in their mindset to continue. The USA just might have to go through this system of governance to learn the lesson it needs to learn.

The question we should be asking is "How did we get to this situation?" Lots of theories and blame are being thrown around, for sure.

My take is that our democratic system have led us to where we are today. It is time to change out this system. It will take 10 to 20 years to build a new kind of democracy.

But this new democracy will require effort. A different kind of effort than posting articles on Medium:
