Maybe market forces will eventually mean high enough electricity prices that people reduce their consumption.
Solar has a place, but it is not a panecea. If we don't allow some solar, we won't learn for the future.
Unfortunately, we jumped too deep in the nuclear power in the 60s and 70s. Then we stopped building new plants. We're going to have a bunch of outdated plants with nothing to replace them.
We need to do some practical experiments with thorium energy. Start with one plant, then learn some important lessons.
But we are not that smart, are we?
