Well, now I feel better. Someone else is thinking along my lines.

AND the Medium algorithms seem to be ignoring this article just as they ignore my articles. It is frustrating other political writers with a lot less to say get more play.

There is a symbiotic relationship between the political parties, media, and the nation’s elite class. And I think most people realize this to varying degrees. The problem lies with believing that there is no other solution out there, the symbiotic relationship inculcates this sense of hopelessness.

For example, I had a fairly astute Medium contributor read my book. His analysis: you can’t stop human nature, so why bother with my system? I ask early TDG builders to put in about five to 10 hours a month to start building this new way. This Medium contributor probably spends three hours a week on Medium — week after week. His efforts on Medium are not likely to have much effect as he is an echo chamber. He too has been inculcated that western democracy is the only way to go.

Educating voters to be more responsible in the current system is a futile task. Your average Trump supporter believes that you and I need this education. So we have a standoff.

Rather than trying to convince the other side the error of their ways, why not those of us making post after post after post with our fantastic logic put some of this free time into a few TDG hours each month?

Food for thought. Great article. The system cannot reform itself.

I too have used the Model A analogy in my work. It’s amazing how we have mythologized this car. It was a terrible car by today’s standards (I rode in one).
