Well said. We really need a 50-year plan to wean us off most of our petroleum addiction. It's too bad our system of governance is not conducive to making a 50-year plan.

In the meantime, it's still an exciting career for a young person to be in. There will be a few more cycles of when petroleum jobs outnumber experienced oilfield workers. Such workers should have a plan to get out before the next bust; i.e. save a lot of those big paychecks.
