What to teach and what not to teach? The issue with high level educators everywhere.
One thing that boggles me is that when an educational jurisdiction makes a change, there doesn't seem to be much research to back the decision. In other words, some high-ranking educators make the decision, backed by the governing political party. So the change is implemented throughout the educational jurisdiction. There never seems to be any follow whether the new way was better than the old way.
Rather I believe the new way should be implemented in a few schools and watch the results. If the results are good, implement the new way everywhere else. If not, go back to the old way, which probably was not that bad.
For sure, get rid of the sanitized history lessons for Americans.
I think getting rid of science in elementary school is worthy of consideration.
