When I graduated from petroleum engineering school in 1982, my understanding of thermodynamics led me to believe that releasing the sun's heat of million of years ago was going to warm the planet up. THe climate was going to be much different. My solution was to put a "climate" tax on all fuels, which should have adjusted our economy to use less fossil fuel.
We didn't go in that direction.
One of "business-as-usual" technique is the carbon credit schemes, which allows polluters to pollute as long as they pay someone else something. I don't get it. My climate tax makes more sense.
We need a better democracy.
