When I look at this article’s photo, I see a whole bunch of ardent Bernie supporters whose main role will be put names of soft Bernie supporters on a list so they can be phoned on election day and encouraged to vote (for Bernie). Most of the ardent will have very little to do with democracy after the election is over. They will not be part of further thinktanking about social democracy. Their role is to build and work the list. Bernie and his senior minions will do everything else.

It is time for Americans to stop putting their trust in a political messiah — like a Donald or a Bernie. It’s time Americans took affairs into their own hands and built a new system of democratic governance.
