When I made a vow to abstain from reading Medium articles, you brught me back in. If I fall off the wagon, it is all your fault!

I took a look at the Jimmy Stewart clip. I'm kind of inspired to continue--and should I have an independent means to earn lower-middle class income, I would continue. But I need to sacrfice the 2-3 hours a day promoting the TDG for other income sources.

I wouldn't blame Medium. I think I've engaged about 3000, people here which is a good focus group. And if one does not click on top writers, one finds many other good writers with similar populatity as I have. Occasionally I run across an article that might make $50, but this is not the norm for these writers.

Medium is not making a profit. I have sensed failing businesses before and I am usually right. Medium is being subsidized.

For some reason, Medium feels it needs to promote its current milleau of top writers, (which still occupies 10% of my feed even though I haven't clicked on them for more than a year). Maybe it needs shake things up a bit, but I'm not in charge--and I don't have many facts.
