When I signed on last April, I had a $ sign in my eye. But coming from Canada, I soon found out that I would have fill out a few extra forms to get some Medium pay. I opted to write for free.

Between the Medium algorithms not liking me very much and moderately popular Medium writers not making enough to pay for their coffee, I should not have to plan for a Medium income of any significant kind.

It is very competitive on Medium. I doubt “working harder” is going to help my status here.

There comes a time where we creative people have to be practical — and accept we can’t make a living on our chosen craft.

But it is fun to be here. Even though I get less attention on Medium than on other internet forums, I sure run into some well-written and thought-provoking and informative articles.
