When I was doing some reading for the 17th Amendment (people electing Senators), it took about 30 years of public pressure to effect this change.
The political class is not going to consider the TDG in any way. This is another reason why the TDG needs to be built outside the current structure.
I believe when 1% of Americans get behind the TDG, it will take 20 years to build it, which is quicker than trying to reform the current system.
The relationship between the federal government and the states is neither good nor bad. It is what it is. But as the TDG is built, new relationships are possible. We will have to experiment.
