When I was formulating the structure for Tiered Democratic Governance, I contemplated different kinds of communities to form electoral units.
For example, I considered "oilfield workers" as a possible community. We would form some of association and elect our own people into the legislature. My representative would have first-hand knowledge of the issues facing oilfield workers.
But as thought more about these kinds of communities, I came to the conclusion that geographical was the best electoral district. Strange as it sounds, geography would more likely bring people of diverse thinking learning how to work together. And that is what we need.
