When I was in a Canadian political party, I advocated for an RCV ballot in our internal elections. I became a little too annoying and was in danger of losing whatever status I had built up for myself. The party members seemed to like that long drawn out election night, with deals being struck between the rounds of voting. But most political parties in Canada have RCV in their internal leadership elections. I was ahead of the times.
But not much progress for RCV in the general elections.
RCV would change the dynamics of American democracy for sure.
But we need to build an even better democracy, one with no political parties.
