This kind of statement assumes the masses are gullible for cheap tricks. I believe Ms. Clinton 65m votes proves that Americans, in general, are not that gullible.
Having said that, I will concede to the possibility of Cambridge/Russia/FB being able to sway 100,000 votes in swing states to give Mr. Trump the edge. And I’m quite sure they will try again. And maybe the other side has smartened up and will level this playing field.
If we really don’t want this kind of influence on votes, then we should design an electoral system where FB advertising will have little effect on who gets elected. I have a solution for that.
