When we have adopted of a consultative culture, then online meetings (and remote work) should not be a barrier to productivity.

But when we have a power or democratic culture, I can see why the "power people" want everyone back in their cubicle.

True consultation is when we combine knowledge, experience, and wisdom of all participants into one voice.

Easier said than done, but this is something we need to practice. Later we will be able to recognize the consultative cultures and players. Then we'll see some real efficiencies.
