While I'm not a fan of nostalgia (which is not as good as it used to be), it seems to me that politicians became celebrities after they rose through the ranks in their political party (and some right time in right place with some right people stuff).

Now being a celebrity is a rereq to putting a name on a ballot.

It's time for a new way.
