Whoever gets the presidency in 2020 will inherit one muck of a fess. Maybe it’s better to let Mr. Trump dig a deeper hole. Then enough of his base will figure things out and smarten up. Mr. Trump might even be truly impeachable by 2022.
If Mr. Biden gets the mess, the Trump base stays intact — blaming Biden for everything wrong. Mr. Trump will be chirping from the sidelines: “I would have done this” or “I wouldn’t have done that.”
Nothing is what it seems in politics.
Time for a new system, where the likes of Mr. Trump cannot be elected.
