Yesterday, I read a Medium article proclaiming AOC as the next political messiah for USA. The writer was stating she should run for Senate, as her path to the presidency, maybe 2028. Vote her in and all will be well.

Obama was a messiah to some. Trump was a messiah to others. Bernie is a messiah to many. At least Mr. Biden is not being put into the messiah camp!

There is no messiah who can fix things. Americans have to do this themselves. They have to build this new democracy--neighborhood-by-neighborhood, spending about 10 hours a month.

To answer your question directly: Yes Americans should lead the change, but this change does not mean following a messiah.
