You are obviously a frustrated voter.

The problem is that the Democrats and Republicans have developed a formula to help them win elections about 50% of the time. They are not going to change that formula by "giving voters something to vote for". Too risky. The other side will win.

I used to be an avid reader of Mad magazine. I still have too many images locked in my brain. One image is an Al Jaffee cartoon.

A retail store. An old lady, A well dressed clerk. There are two bird cages, each with a demon inside. One cage/demon is bigger than the other. The old lady is pointing to the smaller cage. The clerk is smiling at her choice. The caption: "Voting is like choosing the lesser of two evils."

That cartoon was published 45 years ago.

If we want change, don't expect it from the political elite. Nor the wealthy. Nor the academics. We have to build a new democracy ourselves.
