You are one of the few UBI writers to acknowledge how a UBI will benefit the local economy. This is the program that can lift many boats.
I'm an advocate for UBI, but I would not consider myself as well versed as you. One fault of previous studies is that the participants seemed to be hand-picked to have a good chance of success if they get a UBI payment.
Unfortunately, if we implement a true UBI, we will need to provide UBI payments to people who will spend money on their addiction. We need to accept that a UBI won't really help some people, but it will sure help others.
But maybe a UBI will help reduce petty crime to some degree. I haven't heard any commentary in this matter.
