You are probably in a better position than I in this matter. I would like to know the current sentiment of the ethnic Russians in Ukraine.

In 2006, I visited Bukovina, where 90% of the population consider themselves as Ukrainian. The other 10% were Russian and Romanian. The Russians were quite vocal in their support for their "mother" country and would have approved Russian rule again.

The regions in Ukraine Russia currently occupies has a 50% or more demographic of Russian speakers. These people also supported a return to Russia rule.

I am sensing that a shift in attitude of Russian speakers, more favorable to Ukrainian rule. That shift started before the war started.

But I am not there. I have not run across analysts who talk about the language divide in Ukraine.

Maybe this is worthy of another article from you.
