Because we more associate with people outside our geographical area than inside, I pondered a long time over our current notion of geographical constituencies. Could we not use our non-local associations to determine representatives in our legislatures?
After maybe a couple of years of pondering, I came to the conclusion that much smaller geographical units are the best solution. The TDG will be instrumental in turning neighborhoods into communities.
Other than four salient features, each TDG is going to design itself. Some of your design feature may be incorporated in some TDGs. If the features prove useful, they will be ratained. If not, they will be replaced. Building the TDG is going to embark on many democratic experiments. And this experimented is a good thing. TDGs will learn from each other.
