Your article brought back short stories by Vic Dardik. Vic's short stories were often read on CBC Radio. He talked about nature in northern Alberta circa 1980. Having done a fair bit of oilfield work in that area, Vik's stories brought out features of the landscape my actual presence could not see.

The radio show published a compilation of its many writers. Vic had three excerpts in this compilation. Except the publisher did not convert Vic's stories into printed text. It published Vik's stories in his own handwriting.

Vik had terrible cursive handwriting. He had many grammar and spelling mistakes. Lots of crossed out stuff. He was obviously not well educated. Yet all this poor presentation stuff made the stories even more vibrant to read and enjoy.

I looked to see if these stories were somewhere on the internet. I could not find them. Too bad.
