Your comment reminded me of the film version of 1984, with Winston Smith being watched by that helicopter.
Last summer, I predicted the beginning of the end of the Trump era as the photo op in front of a church with Mr. Trump holding a Bible.
I was wrong.
But I believe the USA was reasonably close to a severe constitutional crisis where the military would have had to take a side--and one side would have led to a dictatorship.
Thankfully, the events of January 6 did not transpire to this crisis. The social/political foundation is still there for a lot of chaos.
This last week suggested the end of the Trump era might be in sight:
1) Mr. Gaetz is making a fool of himself.
2) The NRA is going bankrupt.
3) Trump supporters thought they were giving monthly donations, which turned out to be weekly donations.
4) Foxx News is spending more time analyzing what could have been on Hunter Biden's computer than on Mr. Gaetz's girlfriends.
5) Mr. Biden is getting lots of good PR with his infrastructure plan.
Is it possible for these events to shift 10% of R's to think differently when they vote in 2022? Or perhaps stay home?
But I've been wrong before.
