Over the years, I have garnered bits and pieces of Sharia law. However, I have not had any findings that Sharia has much to do with governance. It seems to me that Sharia applies to the people, not the rulers.

So how does Sharia select its rulers? How much authority do these rulers have over their people?

This could be a big topic. I would be interested.
