Your response is helping to affirm my hypothesis that the usefulness of SAT is overstated. From responses to my article, it sounds like some educational institutions have already abandoned this metric.

Until we get the college graduates up to 14% African Americans, there is still lots of work to do. I still say the crux is the quality of schools in poorer neighborhoods. And that is a 20- to 30-year solution!
